The Full Story
RENEW is a new concept for the care of adults with early onset dementia, Alzheimer's, and memory issues. The Montessori philosophy respects the individual and their contributions to the community. We encourage independence in a prepared environment and offer meaningful engagement for our members. This increases feelings of satisfaction, belonging, and wellness. Members of all abilities work together to form friendships and help each other in a supportive environment.
We are all naturally motivated toward independence, and RENEW encourages members to engage in daily tasks as individuals and as partners to help increase independence. Activities are designed to encourage purposeful activity. Activities are also designed to reinforce skills, strengthen members' hand-eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills, attention, sensory stimulation, and increased personal satisfaction.
One of the most challenging aspects of being a caregiver is not knowing what assistance to provide and how what help is available. In early-onset dementia, when loved ones are still independently bathing, dressing, and eating, it can be challenging to know what aid is needed and when. Assistance may be needed with tasks such as operating the microwave, dressing correctly for the weather, or new developments such as sun-downers.
Our trained staff can connect you with resources and connect you with caregiver support groups.
Our vision at RENEW is to offer assistance in the very first steps of the dementia journey to improve quality of life. Our programming is intentionally designed to encourage independence and satisfaction.
